Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news site, is a television personality as well as a writer and charitable donor. After moving into England from Greece at 16 She earned an MA in Economics at Cambridge University. The first graduate who was not from the UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following graduation, she left her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later she created a voice-based website that gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. Her fame helped to attract several prominent contributors to share their views on current events as well as politics and culture. Arianna first gained notoriety when she ran for California's recall election, replacing then Governor Davis. Alongside this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their top 100 list in 2010. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media unit, which comprised of many at the time-current AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a Journalism and management expert. Though she was close with her father, it was her relationship with her mother which shaped her character. At a young age, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. At the age of 16, she travelled to England for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. In 1972, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics. The career of TV host and journalist began after she graduated. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She started writing books and enlisting his assistance for editing.
