Over her final 2 years in the Trojans program, she guided them to a national title every time. The achievements of each individual have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross, a USC international relations student, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the chance to watch her daughter grow into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001, when Ross was in the midst of being a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. But, she will always keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie is a constant source of inspiration for her on and off the beach.
